Quarter Horse Stallion - Palomino - Barrel Racing Stallion
2004 Palomino AQHA Stallion
aka “ Dazzler ”
Truly a “golden” opportunity to put some “fire” into your performance!
SCHIMKE RANCH is pleased and excited to present the newest addition to the herd…….bred and raised by a champion, pedigree packed
with champions, and destined to become a champion himself…….
Firewater Finale was purchased as a 2 year old prospect from multiple NFR qualifier and barrel racing champion, Kelly Yates. He has great conformation, a calm, willing, wonderful disposition and he is passing these attributes on to his offspring.
Firewater Finale has proven to us in the past year that he has a lot of HEART. He suffered a life threatening injury to his left hind leg while playing out in his corral in late July of 2009. Originally the vet figured he would have to be put down, however; Dazzler had other ideas on that. After a couple months of stall rest and a lot of TLC, Dazzler came back from his injury not only to be riding sound, but he came back to win in the arena as well.
He missed over half of the futurities he was entered in, from August to September, but he was back on the road again by mid October and was back to his winning ways. This horse truly does have the heart that it takes to be a champion, and the athletic ability as well.
After nearly being put down, Firewater Finale went on to place in go rounds and the top ten averages at the 2009 Roper Rally Futurity in Spearfish, SD, 2009 Bold Heart Breeders Futurity and the 2009 Bold Heart Open Futurities both in Huron, SD; the MN Lakes Barrel Futurity in Fergus Falls, MN; he placed 6th in the average for the WPRA Futurity PESI at the 2009 WPRA Finals in Tulsa, OK; he won the 1D Championship at the 2009 South Dakota Heartland Futurity in Huron, SD; and he placed 5th at the 2009 Sho Me Futurity Slot Race in Columbia, MO. He was running consistent 1D times at the bigger shows towards the end of the 2009 competition season, and tipped a barrel to place at his first ever WPRA rodeo in Brookings, SD.
Firewater Finale ran and placed at 3 derbies in 2010, He was the Reserve Champion Double J Classic Derby horse, won 2nd in the 1D at the East River South Dakota Slot race, and won the 1D and several 1D checks at many open 4D barrel racing jackpots. He has won just over $10,000 in literally just a hand full of competitions in 2009 & 2010.
His first foals are 3 years old in 2011 and we are hearing that they are very easy to start, and are very willing with that wonderful Fire Water Flit disposition. We are excited to see how they do in the barrel arena in a couple of years!
The video is of Amy Schimke and Dazzler, 4th in the 1D out of 100 entries at the NBHA jackpot in Huron, SD held in conjunction with the South Dakota State NBHA Championships 5-23-2009. More videos to come as he progresses through his training.
Jean Schultz and Firewater Finale win both gos and
the average of the 2010 SD NBHA Senior 1D Championships!
Jean Shultz and Firewater Finale run the fastest time of the weekend (over 600 runs)!
